STRESS TEST SYSTEM  This is a personal computer based system and has been developed to carry out the stress test on heart patients and probable heart patients. It is a low cost indigenous version of the stress test systems available abroad. The system consists of a PC/AT, ECG data acquisition system consisting of preamplifier, filter, multiplexer and A/D converter, printer and cables assembly. The software consists of acquisition module, display module, analysis module and report generator all of which are controlled through a supervisor program. The main functions of the system are to monitor, analyse and document the ECG of a person doing exercise. The trends of heart rate, ST shift and BP during and after the test are used to infer the abnormalities. The common abnormalities that are detected using this system are myocardial ischemia, angina pectoris and other coronary artery diseases. The system has been validated at several centres including KEM Hospital, Bombay, NIMS, Hyderabad and MediCiti, Hyderabad. |
