DEVELOPMENT OF SPEECH ENHANCER

SBMT in collaboration with Vellore Institute of Technology and All India Institute of speech and Hearing has taken up a project to design and develop speech enhancer. Apart from therapy treatment, rehabilitation and the augmentation aids for the the people with speech disability, an approach to assist the impaired with some device could be made which meets the objectives such as reduction of ambient noise, enhancement of the speech signal, replacement of speech features and emphasis on speech elements that otherwise remain imperceptible led to the idea of developing a low power wearable device that performs speech enhancement and help people with sever sensory hearing deficits.
